Everything you believe about the time it takes to make money is WRONG.
the time-money connection is one of the deepest beliefs your nervous system holds. and this Thursday, we’re clearing it together.
Okay so I need to talk about something that’s been rattling around in my brain all week and I haven’t been able to let it go.
I was sitting on my couch the other night — like truly just sitting there with my coffee doing nothing, which if you know me is rare because my brain is usually running 47 tabs at once — and I had this thought that kind of stopped me:

Every money goal I’ve ever set came with a timeline attached to it. Every single one. “I want to make $10K a month.” “I want to hit six figures this year.” “I want to pay off my Amex by December.” The number was never just a number. It always came strapped to a clock. Like money and time were the same thing. Like you couldn’t have one without putting in the other.
And I realized I’ve been doing this my entire life. My entire career. 15 years as a Registered Dietitian and then building an online business and the whole time, underneath everything, this belief was running:
More money = more time.
Big money takes years.
Real money takes hard work over a long period.
You have to EARN it slowly.
One client, one hour, one paycheck at a time.
Anything faster than that is either a scam or a fluke or something that happens to people who aren’t you.
I want you to try something with me right now 👇
Think about how much money you want to make this year. The real number. Don’t edit it.
Now notice what your brain just did.
I’m willing to bet it immediately started calculating time. How many clients. How many hours. How many launches. How many months of consistent effort before you’d “deserve” that amount.
Your brain took a number and turned it into a math problem about hours. Automatically. Without asking.
That’s not a money belief. That’s a time belief wearing money’s outfit.
And it’s one of the deepest ones most of us carry.
🥲 My Honest Experience With This (And Why I’m Sharing It)
For most of my career, I was fully subscribed to the “time-for-money model.”
I charged by the hour.
I measured my income by the week.
I calculated what I could make in a year by multiplying my hourly rate by the number of hours I was willing to work.
And that math always had a ceiling. Because there are only so many hours. And my nervous system had decided that ceiling was just... reality.
Then in 2023, I put “$11K in one day“ on my vision board. And my brain laughed. Literally. Like, that’s cute, Christine. You’ve never made more than $5K in a MONTH. Where exactly is $11K in a DAY going to come from?
But here’s what nobody saw:
For the six months leading up to that, I spent about two minutes every morning — before my coffee, on my couch, eyes closed — just feeling what it would feel like to be the person who receives that kind of money. I didn’t force it. I didn’t stare at the vision board and clench. I just let myself feel the feeling. The pride. The relief. The “holy shit, I actually did that” feeling.
And I used EFT tapping to clear every belief inside me that said it was completely reasonable and grounded delulu (as the kids say), ridiculous, greedy, not for someone like me. Can you relate to any of those? Because I had ALL of them. On repeat. For months.
And instead of letting those beliefs run the show, I refocused that energy into why that money was for me.
What I’d do with it. Who I’d help. How the people buying my course would feel — relieved, excited, hopeful, proud of themselves for investing in something that could actually help them. I focused on the energy exchange. The value flowing out, the money flowing back. Even. Clean. Nobody losing. Everybody gaining.
December 31st came. I went to my friend’s house for New Year’s Eve. Didn’t think about the number. Woke up January 1st, checked my course sales from overnight.
Over $11,000. In one day. The exact vision board goal. On the first day of the new year. While I was sleeping.
I sat there staring at my phone like a crazy person. And the first thing my brain said wasn’t “congratulations.”
It was: “that shouldn’t have happened that fast.”
THAT’S the belief. Right there. “That shouldn’t have happened that fast.” My nervous system was genuinely confused that money arrived without the expected amount of suffering attached to it.
💭 So Why Do We Link Time to Money So Hard?
Here’s what I’ve figured out — and this is the part that changed how I think about everything:
“Money should take a long time” isn’t really about time. It’s about worthiness.
“I need to work harder before I earn more” is actually “ease isn’t available for someone like me.”
“That kind of money takes years to build” is actually “I’m not the kind of person things come quickly for.”
The time piece is just the packaging. The real belief underneath is: I have to PROVE I’m worthy by logging enough hours, enough effort, enough struggle. And until I’ve put in the time? I haven’t earned the right to receive.
Which is why when money does come quickly — a windfall, an unexpected check, a sale you didn’t see coming — most people’s nervous systems freak out. It doesn’t feel safe. It feels like a mistake. Because it didn’t take long enough to feel earned.
And I realized — once I started looking — money is moving in massive amounts ALL AROUND ME, all the time, completely disconnected from how many hours someone worked:
💸 Someone sold their house for $600K in a single closing. One afternoon. One signature.
📈 A stock made someone $50K on a Tuesday before lunch.
💸 A roof got billed for $30K and the crew finished in 3 days.
🏔️ A business sold for $2 million in one meeting.
🎰 Someone won $10,000 on a scratch-off at a gas station in 4 seconds.
💻 A woman launched a digital course and made $80K in a week from her living room.
🌊 An investment earned someone $20K in interest while they were on vacation doing literally nothing.
🎯 A freelancer sent one proposal, got the contract, invoiced $25K for two weeks of work.
⚡ Someone’s TikTok went viral and they made $30K in brand deals from one 30-second video.
None of these people made that money in 365 days. Some of them made it in 365 seconds.
And yet — if I told you “you could make your yearly salary in a month” your brain would immediately start arguing.
“Yeah but that’s different. That’s not realistic for someone like me. I don’t have those skills, that audience, that background, that luck.”
And everything you just told yourself about why that’s not possible for you? Those are the beliefs. Right there. The ones that link your income to a clock and tell you that’s just how it works.
🧠 What Happens to Your Brain When You’re in Scarcity Mode Around Money
Okay this part is important because it connects everything.
When your nervous system is in survival mode around money — the grasping, the “there’s not enough,” the checking your bank account with one eye closed — something happens to your brain that most people don’t realize:
Your perception literally narrows.
Your field of vision constricts.
Creative thinking shuts down.
You stop seeing possibilities and start seeing only problems.
Every door looks closed.
Every idea feels impossible.
Every risk looks like a guaranteed loss.
So you end up stuck in this loop:
…Round and round and round.
And here’s the sneaky part that nobody talks about — this doesn’t just happen when you’re broke. It happens when you’re in a state of wanting.
When your whole identity is “I am someone who NEEDS more money” instead of “I am someone who is building something and receiving is part of that.”
The wanting itself keeps the scarcity signal firing. Because wanting = not having. And your nervous system registers “not having” as a threat.
But when you shift — even slightly — into the identity of someone who already has what she needs and is expanding from there? Your brain opens up. Doors that were invisible become visible. Ideas you couldn’t access in survival mode suddenly show up at 2am or in the shower or on a random walk.
The ideas were always there. Your brain just couldn’t see them until your nervous system shifted out of survival.
🔄 Your reticular activating system at work:
Your brain filters reality based on what it believes is true and safe. Change your internal state — even slightly — and you literally start seeing different things in the same environment. That’s not woo. That’s your RAS updating its filters. Change the state, change what you see.

💫 The Question I Want You to Sit With
If time and money were not connected — if you could make your yearly salary in 1 MONTH instead of 1 YEAR — what would be different about you?
Not what would you buy. What would be different about how you think.
What energy would you wake up with?
How would you carry yourself through the day?
What would you say yes to that you’ve been avoiding?
What ideas would you finally pursue instead of filing under “someday when I can afford to”?
How would you talk about your work?
How would you show up in your relationships?
What would it feel like to sit down at your laptop and know that the thing you’re about to create could generate your rent in a week — not because you’re hustling but because you changed what your nervous system believes is possible?
That version of you isn’t someone you become after the money arrives. That version of you is who you become so that the money can arrive.
The identity shift comes first. The evidence follows.
📅 This Thursday: Money Date — “What’s Time Got to Do With It?”
Thursday, June 11th · 12pm EST · Live on Zoom · 75 minutes
If everything you just read made your chest tight — this session is for that.
We’re going after the time-money belief at the body level. The “money should take longer” story. The “I haven’t earned it yet” programming. The nervous system pattern that keeps you grinding when you could be receiving. The identity that says you have to work hard for a long time before anything good is allowed to happen.
This is a live EFT tapping session — you and me, clearing this belief together in real time. I walk you through it layer by layer and you feel the charge drop while it’s happening.
During the session you’ll feel:
🌊 The tightness around money loosening — sometimes dramatically, sometimes so quietly you don’t notice until afterward
💭 Old beliefs surfacing you didn’t know were running — the ones underneath the time belief. The worthiness stuff. The family stuff. The “ease isn’t for people like me” stuff.
🧠 That shift from scarcity-brain to open-brain — where ideas and possibilities suddenly feel available instead of impossible
😮💨 That specific exhale when something you’ve been carrying for years just... lifts
In the days and weeks after:
💬 Your inner dialogue around money starts sounding different. Less panicked. More curious. More “what if” instead of “yeah but.”
🗝️ Ideas and opportunities show up that your brain was too contracted to see before
🌿 The urgency softens. You stop trying to earn money and start allowing it.
⏳ Your relationship with time changes. The “I don’t have enough time” feeling loosens. Because when you stop linking time to money, you get both back.
$47. 75 minutes. Live + replay with lifetime access.
Can’t make it live? The replay hits just as hard. Same tapping. Same clearing. Same shift.
Bring whatever your body does when you think about money being easy. That’s exactly what we’re working with. 🤍
🔮 What I’m Personally Working On Right Now
I’m going to be transparent because that’s what we do here.
I’m doing this work again. Right now. Today. Because the beliefs came back. Or maybe they never fully left — they just got quieter for a while and now they’re loud again because I’m in a completely new chapter.
I closed my cortisol business. I’m rebuilding from scratch with EFT and this Substack and a tapping app I’m building for the summer. And all the old time-money beliefs are SCREAMING at me:
“You can’t build a new income stream this fast.”
“It took you years to build the last business, it’ll take years to build this one.”
“You’re starting over at 38, do you know how long this is going to take?”
“You should just go get a stable job and stop playing around.”
Cool. Love that inner dialogue. Very supportive. 10/10 would not recommend. 💀
So I’m tapping on all of it. Every morning. The time belief specifically. The one that says I need to suffer longer before I deserve to receive. The one that says rebuilding should take as long as building did the first time. The one that says ease and speed aren’t available to someone starting over.
And I’m doing the embodiment practice again — the same two-minute practice I did before the $11K day. Eyes closed. Hand on my heart. Feeling what it would feel like if this Substack covered my rent by fall. If money started flowing from this work the way it flowed from the last business. If the timeline my brain set was wrong and the universe’s timeline was faster, better, and more creative than anything I could plan.
I don’t have evidence yet. But I have willingness.
And I’ve learned that willingness is where everything starts.
🤍 Last Thing — And I Mean This
Everything I just described — the embodiment practice, the EFT clearing, the identity shift, the two minutes on my couch that led to $11K in a day — that’s exactly what we’re doing together in Thursday’s Money Date.
If you can’t make it live Thursday at 12pm — the replay is just as powerful. Do it on your couch at 11pm. That’s when I do most of my best tapping anyway.
✨ I’m ready. Sign me up for the Money Date.
Bring whatever your body does when you think about money being easy.
That’s exactly what we’re working with. 🤍
